Electric Earth Orchestra
Where orchestral instruments, electronic sound, and living plants merge into one immersive sonic journey.
About
Founded and directed by Danilo Ricci, the Electric Earth Orchestra (EEO) combines orchestral instruments, electronics, and plant sonification, creating immersive performances that connect music, technology, and the living world.

Using custom-built data sonification devices, plants are connected to synthesizers and become part of the orchestra’s electronic section. At the heart of this innovation is Electric Fauna, a virtual instrument developed specifically to transform plant activity into sound.

EEO’s work is both a contemporary sonic celebration of the planet and a call to awareness of the unheard universe around us — bridging tradition and innovation, sound and environment, human creativity and non-human voices.

EEO performances are always conceived as audiovisual experiences, developed in close collaboration with visual artists. Past collaborators include Beth Walker, Archie Carr, and Nibera, whose live visuals and installations have become an integral part of the orchestra’s performances.
